REPAIR—REFINISH—RESTORE
—RE-PURPOSE

This twelve foot tall, built-in china was installed circa 1890 and had suffered not only neglect, but water damage from ceiling leaks. The doors were damaged beyond repair or missing. Underneath the damage was old-growth quartersawn white oak.

The cabinet was taken down and repaired and refinished on-site. New 'S' curved doors were built by me and curved glass was ordered. Period hardware was also purchased and the final product would include original stain and coloration. Work on the piece is ongoing.

Good furniture is worth restoring. The character and patina are rarely found in new furniture. And often, the sentimental value makes it irreplaceable.
